Takahashi's TOE eyepieces are the ultimate in high magnification visual observation.  These eyepieces, coupled with a premium telescope, will delivery performance close to the diffraction limit over the entire field of view.

At 52 degrees, the apparent field of vision is similar to Takahashi's LE series of eyepieces, with 10 mm of eye relief.

The optical design of the TOE eyepiece involves 6 elements in 4 groups and minimizes spherical, and chromatic aberration, field curvature and astigmatism.

The 4mm TOE is quite a nice planetary eyepiece. It’s not as compact as an ortho but not excessively large either. Needless to say, it is very very sharp. It is also comfortable with good eye relief. A 4mm ortho would have barely more than 3mm of eye relief. The TOE has 10mm of eye relief making it quite comfortable. The FOV is a nice 52* compared to about 42* for a 4mm ortho. The 4mm TOE is expensive but worth the money. Highly Recommended!

This is the finest 4mm you can buy new today for the planets. It is only bested by an oldie the University Optics flat top 4mm orthoscopic.
Unlike the tiny eye lens of an ortho the TOE seems spacious, and the 52 degree field of view seems gigantic. It even works great in an f/4.6 scope.
Saturn was the only planet out when I bought this and all the details you can see with a 10" at 300x were easy to discern, and the planet would
drift out of view with no distortions or colorations as it went behind the field stop. A great eyepiece and worth every dollar.
